What a beautiful photo of our lake!
This morning we saw the first Wood Duck couples standing on the edge of the ice. Also saw a lone Eagle standing out there. Can’t wait for summer!
I have to agree with Sue… Very beautiful.. Ice went off on April 1st of which must be almost a record. Seen Wood Ducks, Mergansers, Pilated Woodpeckers, loons and many many more birds.
Glad we moved here….
It’s a great idea to post dates of when the ice comes on and goes off our lake. Can we get a volunteer to keep track of it? How about you, Royal? Thanks in advance.
We’ve seen them and can hear them chomping on the cottonwood leaves. The upper canopy in one area of our lot is getting pretty thin. Our drive has a fair amount of droppings.

Happy Holidays to all the Long Lake residents!
We have a new president – Mark Johnston. He lives on Long Lake Road and will take over on January 1, 2012. We are still in need of more Board members and a new Secretary and Treasurer. Please consider volunteering for the good of our lake. Mark’s number is 231-1703.
